Setting Up an Email Account in the Older Version of Windows Live Mail on Window 7

This article is to show the user how to configure the older version of Windows Live Mail email client that is running on Windows 7. At this point it will not show the customer how to install it.

Open Windows Live Mail and select Add e-mail account located in the upper left-hand corner.

Enter your email address, password and full name. Once satisfied that you've entered the correct information press Next.

The Incoming Server is: pop.emypeople.net with port 110 (If you prefer or want IMAP skip the next two pictures). Your Login ID is your email address. The Outgoing server is: smtp.emypeople.net with port 587. Also, check-mark the option that says "My outgoing server requires authentication".

Press Next and you should see a window letting you know you've successfully added your email account. Congratulations! Press Finish and you should be set.

For the IMAP users:

 Your incoming mail server should be changed from POP3 to IMAP. The Incoming Server is: imap.emypeople.net with port 143. Your Login ID is your email address. The Outgoing server is: smtp.emypeople.net with port 587. Also, check-mark the option that says "My outgoing server requires authentication".

Press Next and you should see a window letting you know you've successfully added your email account. Congratulations! Press Finish and you should be set.
