Setting Up an Email Account in the Newer Version of Windows Live Mail on Windows 7

This article is to show the user how to configure the newer version of Windows Live Mail email client that is running on Windows 7. At this point, it will not show how to install process.

 

Open Windows Live Mail and go to the big blue button in the top left-hand corner. Down to Options and Email Accounts.

Choose the button in the top right-hand corner of the next window called Add.

Choose Email Account and press next.

Enter your email address, it's password and your name then press next again.

Make sure your Server Type is set to POP and the server address below is set to pop.emypeople.net with port 110. (If you prefer IMAP skip down to the last picture) Your outgoing server is smtp.emypeople.net with port 587. Make sure it's set to Authenticate using Clear Text and your Logon user name is the full email address. Also, make sure the option Requires authentication is checkmarked. Once satisfied that you've entered the proper settings press Next.

Congratulations! You've added your email account successfully! Press Finish and you're set.

For the IMAP user:

Set your server type to IMAP. Below Server type in the Server address to imap.emypeople.net with port 143. Your outgoing server(on the right-hand side of the window) is smtp.emypeople.net with port 587. Make sure it's set to Authenticate using Clear Text (In the bottom left-hand corner) and your Logon user name is the full email address. Also, make sure the option Requires authentication is checkmarked. Once satisfied that you've entered the proper settings press Next.

 

Congratulations! You've added your email account successfully! Press Finish and you're set.
